I came to the University of Iowa and followed a pre-med/pre-nursing course of study. During that time, I worked in the Department of Pathology at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. I left the University and the UIHC for a position with LifeNet, working in conjunction with The Iowa Donor Network, in the rewarding field of tissue transplant. After my career in tissue transplant, I studied massage therapy here in Iowa City where, upon graduation, I was inivited to join the clinical staff of the school. Shortly following graduation, I was employed by Dr. Steve Hammerstrom, DC, for several years and continue to work closely with him. I also worked several years for the Visiting Nurse Association as a massage therapist, providing massage at the Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist by the State of Iowa and have extensive experience in working with acute and chronic injury, geriatric, medical, pre- and post- natal massage, sports and deep tissue massage.
