I came to the University of Iowa and followed a pre-med/pre-nursing course of study. During that time, I worked in the Department of Pathology at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. I left the University and the UIHC for a position with LifeNet, working in conjunction with The Iowa Donor Network, in the rewarding field of tissue transplant. After my career in tissue transplant, I studied massage therapy here in Iowa City where, upon graduation, I was inivited to join the clinical staff of the school. Shortly following graduation, I was employed by Dr. Steve Hammerstrom, DC, for several years. I also worked several years for the Visiting Nurse Association as a massage therapist, providing massage at the Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist by the State of Iowa and have extensive experience in working with acute and chronic injury, geriatric, medical, pre- and post- natal massage, pre- and post- surgery massage, sports and deep tissue massage.

 

Now, in 2025, Dr. Hammerstrom and I are once again collaborating! FTS Therapeutic Massage LLC has joined with Premier Holistic Wellness & Energy Enhancement Center to bring to Iowa City some of the most innovative and potent healing technologies, coupled with the several decades of experience in the manual healing arts and physical medicine.
